“Fictionalised autobiography with a tragic sense of humour”

bblogoLife  is an intersection too full of tangents   for straight lines. Born in London , 1968, to a  mixed cultural heritage of the Jewish diaspora ,  Moroccan ,  Eastern European,   Pagan Scottish and English.  I grew up in various countries and didn’t go to school much . made it up with going to university a lot . I   began   earning my living as a traditional  stonecarver then  animator, then teacher then   community artist and creative project manager .I’m now settled in  Cornwall  where, with itchy feet, climbing ladders and digging holes , I have remained since 2009.

This website includes  work made for different contexts in different materials of stone, film, drawing, print  and in addition a blog/ journal. The portfolio  does not  sit  comfortably within Eurocentric fine art or craft genres and neither do I.  I continue in the footsteps of  the diaspora a lineage that interweaves   diverse cultural aesthetic influences of fine art , craft , comics and religious iconography .
